Administrative Sections and Units

1 Academic (PG) Looks after all academic matters related to the Post graduate Students admitted to the M.Tech., M. Sc, MBA Degree, Ph.D. Programme and MSR Programme.

Handles all activities related to the registration of the students, exam support functions, grading & graduation, self-study, exchange studentship, casual studentship, summer research fellowship, issuance of transcripts, Ph. D students course work and comprehensive information, maintaining files with respect to correspondence with external supervisor for thesis supervision, verification of credential of graduated or existing students.

Takes care of the scholarships & awards of the students, merit certificates, railway and bus concession. Various certificates like character certificates, migration certificate, bonafide certificates etc. are issued by the Section.

Deleting names from insurance list on pro-rata basis when the persons become ineligible.
Coordinating the premium payments to M/s National Insurance Corporation.
Helping the employees to settle the Insurance claims through TPA.
Coordinating monthly payments to retired employees settled outside NCR and opted for receiving fixed amount in lieu of OPD medical facilities of IIT Hospital.
To receive complaints, if any, related to health services and initiate appropriate actions and inform the complainant accordingly.
To take appropriate actions in consultation with the Head, IIT Hospital to prevent misuse of medical facilities.

16 Legal Cell Deals with the court cases and legal matters pertaining to the Institute. Coordinates between the Institute and the Institute counsels in handling the court cases. 20 RTI Cell Compliance to and for the fulfilment of objectives envisaged in the Right to Information Act, 2005. In line thereto, the cell coordinates as an interface between the information seekers and the Institute as a whole by collecting the requisite information from the concerned department/ centres/ sections/ units etc. and furnishing the same to the applicants. 23 Security Unit Issuing of Identity Cards to all permanent, temporary and contract employees as well as to vendors and shopkeepers.
Issuing vehicle stickers to facilitate the employees for easy entry/exit from the Institute.
Issuing Gate Pass for taking out goods outside the campus.
To ensure proper parking of vehicles in the Academic Area. To take steps if any employee is found smoking or drunk in public places.
To maintain a close liaison with police and fire departments of Delhi Administration.
To follow up the action to maintain discipline and decorum in the Institute as per instruction issued by the authority from time to time.

29 Works Section Responsible for planning, design and construction of new infrastructural facilities in the IITD campus including buildings, roads, walkways, overhead and underground cables, lifelines (water and gas pipelines), communication networks and power transmission systems.
