Dean, Infrastructure/Associate Deans (Infra – Electrical / Renovation/ Maintenance)

  • Initiation and Planning of new works for their commencement such as -initiation of environment impact Assessment (EIA) process for new construction

    • Interaction with Architects and users for finalization of drawings and details and subsequently with local bodies for their approval.
  • Overseeing/monitoring of ongoing new works assigned to Project Management Consultants such as CPWD and NBCC.
  • Renovation and Redevelopment of Academic building, student hostels, faculty & staff housing, commercial establishments etc. and road network and drainage system
  • Maintenance of all existing structures and facilities, their related utilities (both indoor and outdoor) such as electrical supply, lifts, DGs, Pump-houses, water supply & sewage disposal etc.

Development of Sonipat Campus right from initial masterplan to construction and their maintenance.

Professor(s) appointed as Director(s) of Other IITs.

Professors of IIT Delhi who are appointed as Directors of other IITs/NITs, National or State Controlled Engineering Colleges or Directors of the CSIR Labs, Central Govt./ State Govt. Regional Engineering Colleges, State Controlled Colleges and National Scientific Research and Development Laboratories as well as Vice- chancellors in Central and State Universities on a contract basis be given a lien to complete their full term ranging from 3 to 5 years depending upon the nature of the initial contract.

After completing their first term in office, they should join the Institute. In case they get a second term of their contract they should be willing to resign or retire from the services of the Institute before taking up second term of the office.

However, they can retain the house allotted to them in campus one/two category below to the actual entitlement on year-to-year basis during their first term of appointment only. Professors of IIT Delhi who are appointed as Directors of other IITs/NITs can retain the house allotted to them on campus for two years only. (BG04/2004).
